Riegens - Lighting the future Riegens will promote the use of energy efficient lamps and control gear. We will promote the use of advanced reflector optics. A typical luminaire absorbs more than 50% of the light emitted by the light source, the most efficient absorbs less than 10%. Riegens will promote the accurate measurement of installed illuminance levels and campaign for internationally agreed standards for identical spaces. We will promote the use of lighting control systems, turn lights off when no one is present and dim artificial light in response to rising daylight levels.
